Rave Reviews From our Fantastic Guests...

"In August of 2001, we were looking for a place in Door County to bring our extended family for a summer gathering. Being frequent visitors to the peninsula, we were familiar with many places, but nothing exactly fit the bill. On our last day, we took a drive all the way up to Gill's Rock and as we headed back on Highway 42, I spotted a pick-up truck with "Cedar Grove Resort" on the door.

Having grown up in Cedar Grove, Wisconsin, the name caught my eye and we followed that truck all the way to Cedar Grove Resort. We went to the office and the owner gave us the key to one of the units and invited us to look around. It was love at first sight. We immediately made a reservation to return that September for a long weekend and, when we came back for our return visit, we booked a week during the summer of 2002 for a family gathering. It was the beginning of a wonderful tradition that continues to this day. Our first stay at Cedar Grove Resort included an almost year-old baby and children 3, 4 and 5 years old. During our 2013 trip, that baby celebrated her 12th birthday at Bayview Resort. Our week in Ellison Bay has been the highlight of our summer for many years.

Whether it's morning coffee on the deck, relaxing by the beach, fishing from the piers, making s'mores at the outdoor fireplace or just enjoying the spectacular view (especially when the sun sets), Bayview Resort is our favorite summer destination!

"We are now 3rd generation guests at Cedar Grove/ Bayview Resort and Harbor. I have childhood memories of like many people watching the first moon landing on a small tv we brought as this historic event was happening during our annual Cedar Grove summer week which occurred just a few years earlier in the late 60's. Fishing at the resort has spanned all of these years with a guaranteed fish fry during our stay where almost every meal was cooked over the large outdoor bbq by the beach.

Our children have now as adults continued the same desire to share the traditions of tennis, the outdoor fireplace and as they have gotten older the jet ski's. Watching them grow from playing on the swing set to sharing the resort with their significant others assures the special memories will continue. Thanks for allowing us to be part of the guests that have been able to create family traditions over the last 42 years. - Best of continued success!

"While vacationing in Door County since the mid-80's, it wasn't until 1993 that we made "the right left turn" off of Route 42 at the Pioneer Store end first saw the beautiful bay view from Cedar Grove! The anticipation of seeing the Grand View for the first time each summer always bring a smile to our faces. In fact Bayview/Cedar Grove has had a big impact on their smiles over the years at various times and for various reasons. The smile on my son PJ's face was huge while catching his first fish ever from the Bayview pier! Our middle daughter Bridget loved tumbling on the large inviting Bayview waterfront lawn. Year after year everybody in our family still has smile on their face when thinking about our annual vacation at the the Bayview resort in Door County! Here's to many many more!

"Bayview Resort and Harbor is an amazing vacation spot! We are delighted that Eric introduced us to it in 2012. The story that I will share is about the special bedroom for our grandson, Luke. When our family arrived at Bayview Resort for the first time in 2012 he was just over a year and a half. He was not used to sleeping in the same room as his mom and dad, so they were a little worried about how that would work out. Well, little did you know that Voyager II is not a 3 bedroom unit, but a 4 bedroom facility!!

Attached you will see the photo of Luke in his own special bedroom. He slept sound, and his mom and dad were very close by if needed. We are all looking forward to our visit again in 2014!"

"We have spent many happy occasions at Ellison Bay including our parents' 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries. I have attached a watercolor I painted in the 90s. The sunsets still are a highlight of our vacations. By the way, my husband and I are celebrating 42 years of marriage this December.
Thank you and best regards.

"We have a group of 6-8 that have been staying at Bayview Resort and Harbor for the last 3 years. I have always been a big fan of the Door County area and since I found Bayview, I have not stayed anywhere but there.

The immediate area has everything you need and could want for your stay, and the hospitality shown by Kevin and the staff is second to none. There are lots of activities always going on such as; fish boils, biking (there are free rentals right across the street from the resort. I highly recommend doing this and biking to one of the Parks close by), peaceful walks, and for me one of the best is the water. I love fishing and you could not ask for better fishing right out from the Resort. The walleye and smallmouth bass fishing is unbelievable. We have caught numerous walleyes over 7lbs in a day. Also if the wind blows and you do not want to fight the waves you can still fish right from the Harbor at the Resort and catch loads of big smallmouth bass from the pier. Also there is plenty of room to park your boat and trailer and Bayview has boat slips to rent while you are up there so you don’t even have to take your boat out of the water.

The lodging options at Bayview are spectacular. They have “cabins” to fit all sized parties, and since you get your own “cabin” you do not have to worry about loud neighbors or others disturbing your relaxing trip at Bayview. With full kitchens, big living areas, and comfy beds you will be more then comfortable with the time you spend in your lodge.

I highly recommend a stay at Bayview Resort and Harbor as I will be heading back every year for years to come! -Josh

"What a great week of fishing! Bayview Resort made it so easy and enjoyable with amenities like on site boat launch, private boat slips, trailer parking, and close access to great fishing on such a large body of water. We didn't even have to leave the bay to catch all the small mouth bass we wanted and big ones too!

The comfort level of Bayview Resorts Condos made it so relaxing to come off the water after a long day catching trophy walleye. The great views, camp fires, pier seating, and private deck where an added bonus to the large amount and size of the walleyes we caught! - JB

"This really is a classy resort. And, it doesn't have a stuffed shirt approach to us fishing folk. Come as you are, enjoy the beautiful scenery and the good fishing that is nearby...and enjoy the digs!!! (nice beds!!!). I think that Bayview is a great place to get some memorable fishing and lodging on a beautiful stretch of northern Door County and Green Bay waters...and there's some big ones to be found only a cast or two away!

Good luck on the waves! -Mike

"Over the last three years I have had the pleasure of staying at Bayview Resort a number of times (at least 6 or 7 fishing trips - spring, summer and fall). One of the biggest reasons I've kept coming back, in addition to the first-class accommodations, is the really well maintained harbor and boat slips. And as someone who appreciates having a nice comfortable and well maintained resort to hang my fishing hat on for a couple of days, well it's simply a great choice. Good fishing and good lodging...great combo!

And I can honestly tell you that it is good fishing on Ellison Bay! There's usually some good smallmouth fishing just a few yards outside of the harbor and it's consistent throughout the entire Ellison Bay structure. I usually troll shallow running crank baits and try to stay in about 10 ft. of water when I am fishing for smallmouth bass. Of course salmon, and some big walleyes (if you fish at night) can be had within the harbor and bay...if you know where to look and fish that is! If you have a good walleye boat that can handle big water, you are also only a short boat ride south of Washington Island (in calm weather) to hit the smallmouth, pike and perch fishing in the shallows around the island.

My advice is to give a call to the friendly people up at Bayview Resort and book some time with them. -RM

"Our family is looking forward to making a tradition of visiting this resort! We were very pleased with both the accommodations and the staff, but my sons and I were blown away by the world-class smallmouth bass fishery! Waking up only a short walk to the boat launch meant we were on the water earlier, and we had lots of unbelievably good fishing. For the end of the day, there is a little bar with a good pub menu right within walking distance. We've already booked next year, and hope for many more returns."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bayview and would definitely come back. The accommodations were spotless and had everything we needed. The grounds are beautiful and the dock and gathering areas made it easy to sit and relax. We look forward to returning!"
